October 22: Using Socrative.com for Student Assessments and Feedback
I wanted to share a free web-based tool I just learned about called Socrative. Socrative transforms student devices – smartphones, laptops, and tablets - into student response systems. You can use it to ask or poll multiple choice, true/false, or short answers on the fly and you can choose to project the responses. You can also administer short quizzes you have written in advance. Quiz results can then be saved for grading as an Excel file. If you choose, quizzes can even run as a game with two or more teams. It is very easy and quick to set up, and students do not need to sign up for an account or download an app to participate; they simply type in the m.socrative.com url in their browsers, then enter your room number. To check Socrative out, visit socrative.com.
Do let me know if I can help you use Socrative or any other tools for learning. Also, please do consider scheduling a class session in the library and collaborating with me on lessons.
