             Mira Costa High School Library

Strong School Libraries = Strong Students

A robust school library program encourages and sustains 21st Century learners. Schools like Mira Costa that support the library program recognize that:
  • Students deserve equitable access to school library resources.
  • Library standards provide blueprints for strong school libraries.
  • Strong school libraries build strong students, who are life-long learners.

California Model Library Standards
On September 16, 2010, the California State Department of Education passed Model School Library Standards. You can read them here and then select the "Model School Library Standards" links. Your Mira Costa High School Teacher Librarian works to collaborate with classroom teacher to ensure that our students are learning the skills set out in these standards.
